The problem of ensuring sustainable development of enterprises is now becoming especially relevant. The sustainable development of enterprises as primary economic units is the basis for the effective functioning of the economy of the regions and the country as a whole, which determines the priority attention to them when studying the problem of sustainable development management. Management of sustainable development of an enterprise involves its quantitative and qualitative assessment. However, the assessment of the sustainable development of an enterprise still causes certain difficulties, since a unified view of the essence and criteria for sustainable development in modern science has not been developed to date. Concerning the level of individual enterprises, the concept of sustainable development has received several directions and areas of application. Let us consider the main approaches and definitions of the term "sustainable development of an enterprise" in the following paragraphs.
