“John Fowles’s “The French Lieutenant’s Woman” as an example of postmodern writing”

In my opinion, the book "The French Lieutenant's Woman" is an exemplary novel. John Fowles`s, as a literature teacher, seems to have come up with a piece for students. In this work, he primarily embodied many features that distinguish postmodernism. It seems to me that the writer is careful about the creation of the novel: he follows the formulas to get the reader interested and create the perfect novel. He chooses a popular and understandable form (a Victorian novel), transfers the hero into a love triangle. However, in the simple history of ancient attire and other historical realities of that era, there is a hidden nontrivial idea open to erudite people.
